Exhibition and workshop at El Temporal

by juan

Last November I was invited to participate in El Temporal, a wonderful art festival in the city of Santander (northern Spain). The third edition of El Temporal included exhibitions, lectures, workshops and many other creative proposals inspired on the unifying concept of Thirst (“La Sed”).

I showed several photographs from my Last Best Hope project in a group exhibition together with, among others, visual artist Laura Voskian and filmmaker Alba Bresolí.

I was also invited to lead a three-day workshop on the creation of a personal photographic project. I truly enjoyed the entire workshop, it was a great experience spending those days with 16 wonderful and committed photographers and artists.

Discussing Justine Kurland´s “Girl Pictures”

During the workshop we discussed different approaches to conceiving and executing a photographic project, including the issues of finding your own photographic language, editing and sequencing the images. We also had time to make some field work and everyone was really open and generous to share their work with the whole group.

A huge thanks to Pablo López, Miriam Mora, Palo Pez and everyone involved in this wonderfully curated and organized festival.
